On the 7th December 1927 Coastal Radio Station, Humber Radio then housed in three former railway carriages on the west pier of Grimsby Dock, moved to Trusthorpe near Mablethorpe, where it remained until 30th June 2000.

This will be a one-off opportunity to work this call sign from the site of Humber Radio, as in the new year the site is to be redeveloped and will be lost forever.

It is planned to operate two and possibly three station CW, Phone and digimodes , any station making contact with GB80GKZ will receive a unique QSL card specialy designed for this one-off occasion.

Trusthorpe Village Hall will be open from 10am on Sunday where there will be a display of photographs and memorabilia from the day of Humber Radio, refreshments will also be available at the hall and members of the group will be available to answer any questions you may have.
