SAMBENEDETTO RADIO was one of the main Italian Coast Radio for ships in the Adriatic sea.
Today (2010) the Callsign of SAMBENEDETTO RADIO is still IQP with the transmitters still located on IQP's hillside location but the station is remotely controlled from Rome Radio.
For Maritime Radio Day 2010 the special Amateur Radio callsign IQ6SB/IQP was activated by Dom/I6HWD to respresent Sambenedetto Radio. Dom plans to be active again for Maritime Radio Day on the 14th and 15th April 2011.
